Congratulations to the 2007 Virginia District 16 Little League Champions from
Dulles American!
Dulles American went undefeated through the District 16 tournament. We wish them good luck at the State Tournament at McIntire Little League,
and on to Regionals in Florida.
Updates:
- 7/23: DLLA showed some of their trademark power, with Michael Lord and Kyle McCormick hitting home runs to bring the team's State Tournament home run total to 10. But it wasn't enough to beat District 3's Grottoes, who won 7-4. Dulles ended up winning 8 of their 10 postseason games, and reached the State Tournament quarterfinals. Congratulations, Dulles American.
- 7/22: DLLA lost to District 14's Central Little League, 4-5, in the last game of pool play. Their record was good enough for them to advance to the single elimination brack, though.
- 7/21: Michael Lord hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 1st top set the tone, and Kyle McCormick added a 2-run homer in the 3rd and a 3-run homer in the 4th to dominate District 12's Cave Springs, 11-3.
- 7/20: The game almost slipped away, but DLLA came back to win in dramatic fashion, beating District 2's Danville American 8-5 with a grand slam by Michael Kennedy.
